A daily word puzzle for iPhone and iPad
The Wordstone Daily Challenge is a daily word puzzle for iPhone and iPad: one 50-letter board a day, the same for every player, played to a 50-point goal against the clock, with a streak and a Game Center leaderboard.
How the daily board works
Each day Wordstone deals one round board of 50 letter stones. Everyone who plays that day gets the same letters in the same places. You spell words, decide on each offer whether to take the points or go longer, and race to 50 points. Your time is your result, and Game Center ranks it next to everyone else's.
It is the same game as the levels, with the same rules. How to play has them in full.
Streaks
Every day you play adds a stone to your streak. Life happens, so there are two ways to keep a streak through a missed day: a streak shield you buy ahead with shards, which steps in by itself, or a repair with shards when you come back.
The weekly special
Once a week there is a special board: the same letters and rules, with one rule bent. It changes every week.
The daily archive
With Wordstone Pro you can open the last 35 days of daily boards, replay one you liked, or fill in a day you missed.
Who it is for
Players who like a short word game with a decision in it. A daily board takes a few minutes. It asks for a good eye for words and a feel for when to stop, and it rewards both.
Questions
Is the Wordstone Daily Challenge free?
Yes. The Daily Challenge is free to play every day. The free version shows ads; Wordstone Pro removes them.
Is the daily board the same for everyone?
Yes. Every player gets the same 50-letter board on the same day, so the times on the Game Center leaderboard are comparable.
What if I miss a day?
A streak shield, bought ahead with shards, covers one missed day by itself, and you can hold up to two. Without one, the game offers to repair the streak with shards.
Can I play past daily puzzles?
Yes, with Wordstone Pro. The daily archive keeps the last 35 days, so you can replay a board or fill in one you missed.
How is it different from a guess-the-word daily puzzle?
There is no hidden word to guess. You spell as many words as you like from 50 letters until you reach 50 points, and the time it takes is your result.
